Vitamin D! Vitamin D! Vitamin D! Why doesn’t it get the pub it deserves?
The primary reason why winter is the flu season is because most of the planet doesn’t get strong sunlight for 6 months — not any of the other bogus reasons they give. Vitamin D is critical for your immune system.
Vitamin D prevents cancer! Vitamin D deficiency is also the main reason why, the further you go from the equator, the higher the rate of cancer — all cancers, all cultures, all nations. A recent study found that if everyone in the U.S. had optimal levels of vitamin D in their blood, the rate of cancer would drop by over 70% — SEVENTY PERCENT!!!
The fact is that everytime anyone does a study on vitamin D levels, especially during the winter, they find about TW0-THIRDS TO THREE FOURTHS of the subjects have insufficient levels.
Before you recommend any flu vaccine ever again, you’ll want to read this article in the November 2009 issue of the Atlantic magazine, which demonstrates unequivocably that the success statistics for flu vaccines are totally bogus. Flu vaccines are virtually worthless, except as a steady revenue stream for the pharmaceutical industry.
In addition, flu vaccines produce the strongest measured immune response in subjects who already have strong immunity, but not so well in subjects with weak immune systems, who need help the most.

Vitamin D can also help a lot. A good free source of it is sunlight. Also saunas cause a lot of sweating and that is great for the immune system.
