8 Steps Towards True Happiness

It seems like search for happiness is more and more becoming similar to legend of a holy grail. We all are searching for it, but don't really know if it still exists. Although you may think that true happiness is a big remote secret, it's actually really close to us - in small things.

It seems like search for happiness is more and more becoming similar to legend of a holy grail. We all are searching for it, but don’t really know if it still exists. Although you may think that true happiness is a big remote secret, it’s actually really close to us – in small things. Search for the happiness is also the true purpose of personal development.

1. Watch less television. You can still enjoy in your popular shows, but try to reduce the time in front of the box. It’s scientifically proven that too much television brings you into melancholy and depression. Happy people spend 30 percent less in front of the television compared to people who feel unlucky. So, just watch your favourite show and then go for a walk. Do this for some time and you’ll notice the real difference.

Ask yourself, what you really want to accomplish in your life, what’s your true purpose. It could be business goals, learning a foreign language, great looking garden or some kind of sports accomplishment. Goals will give your life a new dimension, your days will be more organized and that’s what makes people happier. Reaching for goals will also improve your self-confidence and give yourself a better and more positive picture of yourself.

3. Stay in center
. Happy people are very connected with their families, friends, neighbors and their coworkers. That also means, they are in center of their own social network. There are simple rules which lead you in the heart of your own network of friends. Be there, when they need you, don’t be too strict towards them, show them, how you respect them and try to spend some free time with them and not alone between the four walls.

4. Don’t grind up every thought. Many people exaggerate with thinking over and over again about every single small matter. Did you ever catch yourself grind up things like: “What did he mean with that look?” or “Why they didn’t invite me to the meeting? Probably because they slandered me!”. That’s actually the way to become even more stressed and your judgment becomes even more negative and one-sided. Don’t judge without proper information! It always leads into negativity.

5. Organize your time. If you’re still unable to organize your time properly, you should read this article. Unorganized people tend to be more unlucky and constantly under stress. That’s also one of the most important issues of modern society. People have more and more tasks to accomplish on a daily basis, but on the other hands, the majority of people, who have too much free time, don’t feel lucky either. Moderation is the magic word here.

6. Surround yourself with happy people. Happiness is contagious and you can get it from your friends or acquaintances. That’s why it’s important to be surrounded by people, who are satisfied with their lives. On the other hand, you can be quite calm, if any of your friends tends to be a grumbler. Negative feelings are not so contagious as positive.

7. Be thankful. Studies have shown, thankfulness is a great way to improve mood. People, who regularly  thank to the God or other supernatural forces for all they have and are able to do, are happier, more active and healthier.

8. Be active.
Happier people watch less television, are often with friends, read more, do more sports and even work more. Even if people still don’t really know, if happiness is the cause for activity or the other way around, they certainly agree, that active way of life and happiness still go hand in hand.
