As we said in the beginning, boost for your immune system can come form the right choice of foods. Various studies show that anyone, who get enough cell-protective vitamins and minerals (vitamin C and E, zinc, selenium) and phytochemicals can improve working of their immune systems by far. Let’s see some of the foods, which can really stimulate your immune system.

Yogurt

Any kind of yogurt is good for your natural body defenses. The cultures in brobiotic yogurts strengthen the intestine’s defense, and included vitamin D activates the reaction of white blood cells during infection.

Ginger

Essential oils, vitamins and minerals such as potassium, calcium and iron – all that is hidden under the skin of the ginger knobbly tuber. These ingredients improve blood circulation and have an antibacterial effect.

Honey

It contains anti-inflammatory inhibines, the heat-stable antibiotic pinocembrin and traces of caffeic acid. Other flavonoids in honey are effective against viruses and are currently tested as a treatment for cancer.

Cress

In the winter months, cress is great refresher for sandwiches, salads and soups. A cress-box should therefore be always in your fridge, especially because watercress provides many cell-protecting vitamins (C, B 1 and B 6),  iron, iodine, and the delicious spicy glycosides.

Wheat

Wheat germ contains big amounts of vitamin E. This vitamin is effective as antioxidant and protects sensitive cellular structures from attack by free radicals. Fatal: A deficiency reduces the formation of antibodies in the immune system.

Trail Mix

The nuts-mix provides protein as building material for immune cells. Vitamin E, zinc and selenium stimulate the formation of the anti-virus front. Sweet dried foods are one of the top antioxidant foods. The only negative aspect of the snack is high percentage of fats. So please do not grub the whole bag.

Sea buckthorn juice

The juice of sea buckthorn berry contains ten times more vitamin C than the same quantity of citrus fruits. It has very herbal-like taste. Therefore, we recommend: Mix one to two tablespoons of sweetened version of the juice into fruit juices, yogurt, cottage cheese or muesli.

  1. I would definitely add that the yogurt must be organic and preferably with no additives and from a trusted source. All non-organic yogurts contain horomones and anti-biotics which are terrible for our bodies. Most yogurt also has tons of sugar, preservatives, and chemicals in them as well so watch out – this could actually be very taxing on your immune system.
I’d recommend immune boosting herbs – echinacea, elderberry, and all Amazonian herbs… always make sure theyre from trusted sources!
