Less Stress, More Sex!

The back rub is more than a prelim to sex. It’s healthy—for both of you. Utah researchers found that affectionate contact lowers stress markers. Couples who used affectionate touching, like massage, for 30 minutes three times a week, lowered levels of the stress-related enzyme, alpha-amylase by 34 per cent.

“Oxytocin, a hormone released during touch, is thought to counteract stress,” says study author Julianne Holt-Lunstad, PhD. So, just trade back rubs.
