Nokia N8 on Start with Vodafone UK
Nokia’s upcoming flagship smartphone, the N8 will likely arrive at UK provider Vodafone first, as a product page has already been launched. The handset is expected to launch on August 24th, though this date has not been confirmed by Nokia.
The N8 will be the first to use the Symbian^3 operating system and will have multi-touch support, multiple home screens and live home screen widgets. Porting existing Symbian S60 and apps from other platforms should be simple as Symbian^3 runs Qt.
There is otherwise a 12-megapixel camera, a 680MHz processor and a new graphics core that allow it to both record and play back 720p video. There is a 3.5-inch, 640×360 capacitive touchscreen and 16GB of built-in storage, along with a microSDHC memory card slot. The phone will also be the first Nokia handset to get 802.11n Wi-Fi and will uncommonly support all five major 3G bands on HSPA.
