Craig Bradley, President of Agel Enterprises

I hope each of you had a productive week.  As summertime comes to a close here in Utah, things are really starting to heat up!  The corporate office is busily preparing for AgelWorld09 and things are hot, hot, hot!

I can’t stress enough the importance of attending Agel events.  Your team’s participation at AgelWorld can be the difference between a business that barely survives and one that thrives!

Last week I shared my thoughts on the positive changes that occur when coffee beans are placed into ‘hot water’.  This week I’d like to focus on the water itself.

“At 211 degrees water is hot, at 212 degrees, it boils.  And with boiling water comes steam.  And steam can POWER a locomotive.  One extra degree…makes all the difference.  And, the one extra degree of effort in business and in life…separates the good from the great!”

The above message is taught in the book 212 Degrees by Sam Parker.  The book shares a simple message that if followed, can have exponential results.

Mr. Parker shares some sports related examples of raising things just one more degree than the people around you do. “The average margin of victory for the last 25 years in all major golf tournaments combined was less than three strokes.”

“The margin for victory between an Olympic Gold Medal and no medal at all is extremely small.  In the 2004 Mens800m race the margin of victory was .71 seconds.”

“At the Indy 500…The average margin for victory for the past 10 years has been 1.54 seconds.  On average the winner took home $1,278,813 the second place prize was $621,321.  A difference of $657,492.”

Less than 2seconds of effort cost him almost $700,000.  I’m sure you agree with me when I say, “I don’t like those numbers!”  This is your business.  Your dream.  Your future. You are responsible for your results.  Don’t let someone work a little harder and make a huge difference in your market.  Ask yourself, “What can I do to turn things up a degree?”

First, allow yourself to dream.
Second, avoid critics and frustration.
Third, inspire others to reach their potential and you will be amazed at how much you raise yourself in the process.

Vince Lombardi, a Hall of Fame Football coach quoted, “Inches make the champion.”
That means small actions can produce big results if you just persevere.  Success doesn’t happen overnight.  Working with your team and taking small steps every single day together will definitely heat things up!
One last quote from the book teaches, “To get what we’ve never had we must do what we’ve never done.”

I KNOW you are great!  Go Ignite Something Wonderful!

My name is Craig Bradley and I Am Agel!
